What we do

SOS stands for Support Our Soldiers, and that’s just what what we do. We send care packages to soldiers stationed overseas, using the addresses that AnySoldier.com provides. Based out of Gillette, Wyoming, the project has become a local rallying point; many groups, clubs, and individuals have joined in to contribute to the packages, or donate their time to help pack them.

We would love to have your help, too. Join in right here!

How it happened

It all started when Killeen Partridge saw the movie The Christmas Card several years ago. Staring John Newton and Alice Evans, it features a letter sent by a stranger back in the States, to, “any soldier”. After the movie was over, Killeen went to the DVD’s special features and learned about AnySoldier.com, a site which gives out the addresses of soldiers who will pass out letters to their buddies.

It wasn’t until several years later that she figured out what she could do. After reading an article in American Profile magazine about Hero Hugs — an organization that sends small “morale boosting” packages to soldiers overseas — the idea began to take shape. With the help of three of her friends (Charlene Pfaff, Patricia Morgan, and Rebecca Morgan), SOS was founded.
